The vacancies are distributed zone-wise under Contiguous Zone Cadres, and reservations are applicable for local, departmental, women, SC, ST, BC, and EWS candidates as per Telangana government rules.

Educational Qualification

For Traffic Supervisor Trainee (TST) posts, candidates must possess a Graduate Degree from a recognized university in India.
For Mechanical Supervisor Trainee (MST) posts, candidates must have completed a Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering. Candidates with higher qualifications such as B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering are also eligible.

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years as on 1 July 2025. However, the Government of Telangana has provided additional age relaxation of up to 12 years for various categories. Further relaxations are applicable for SC, ST, BC, EWS, Ex-Servicemen, and departmental candidates as per rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be done through a written examination consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions for a total of 200 marks. The exam will test candidates on areas such as supervisory aptitude, engineering aptitude (for MST), numerical ability, reasoning, general English, and general knowledge.
The question paper will be available in English, Telugu, and Urdu, except for technical sections where applicable.

Training, Pay & Career Growth

Selected candidates will undergo 12 months of training as Supervisor Trainees. During training, they will receive a stipend equal to the minimum of the time scale of Deputy Superintendent (Traffic/Mechanical). After successful completion of training, candidates will be appointed as Deputy Superintendent (Traffic or Mechanical) in TGSRTC. An indemnity bond of five years is mandatory after training.
